It's really sad to know that some people you put first in life, stop everything for, go out loud for and be there when they need you, only see you as a tool in their hand; as long they can use you, they treat you as an important person, and drop you at any point in time when they find someone better than you. It is heart breaking to know some people have no respect for relationships.
These people always find problems with whatever you do for them, they don't mind dropping you in the middle of the road. They are selfish and self-centered. It's always about them and not you. Your welfare, what you go through each day to meet certain needs in their lives doesn't matter to them.
I have come to realize you don't need such people in your life. The only people you need are the ones who need you in their lives, at the point when you have nothing to offer them. These people appreciate whatever you do for them, including your welfare, struggles, the sacrifices and bridges you crossed for them.
Not so with the people who come to you because of what you have. With them, there is nothing like the future with them no matter the promises they made you. They are not honest with their own words. You can expect humiliation, disappointment and frustration from them any day.
On my career journey and personal experience with people, I have come across these categories of people and I keep meeting them. Each time such people dropped me because they have found someone better than me, what I do is to write their name down and say to myself, "they can go ahead and find someone better than me or someone worse than me but whatever their findings are, they will never find someone like me."
Someone genuine, real and caring. A work in progress, a global ambassador. Someone might ask why do I have to write down their name. The reason is so simple, in the near future, because these people have short memories or didn't have any memory because they don't value relationships, they will try contacting me again. When that happens I have to serve them appropriately. Which is to turn them down. I am not doing that because I don't love or care for people, I do this because they don't care, love or know the value of a relationship.
So until then, I am not bothered, I don't let their disappointment get at me or have a hold on me. I put that behind me, for some memories are best forgotten whilst some people are best ignored. It is far better to leave the life of people who feel better without you.
No human is supernatural, the reason why you need someone is because you can't be everything and can't do everything yourself. The people you might ignore today might be the same people you will need tomorrow. We need one another as humans, it is what makes us strong, it is what makes us human.
So next time any human being turns you down or reject you, never feel bad; smile, for even when Jesus came to this world in the form of a human being, He needed others so as to complete His work. The same people sacking you today will need you tomorrow. Don't forget that.
In conclusion "Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of it, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do. So we belong to each other, and each needs all the others" - Romans 12:4-5 (TLB).
Please share with your friends, someone out there needs this.
